They are robust, economical, and well-known to all operators. They withstand heat, prolonged tension, and tight pulling angles well.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBut they have several limitations:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\n\u003cli\u003eThey are heavy, especially beyond 20 or 30 meters.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\n\u003cli\u003eThey are stiff: difficult to coil, fold, and transport.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\n\u003cli\u003eThey can be sharp if frayed.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\n\u003cli\u003eThey damage wood more if they rub directly against logs.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\n\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTextile cables\u003c\/strong\u003e, especially models made of \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.cordagesgautier.com\/collections\/dyneema\" title=\"Dyneema\"\u003eDyneema®\u003c\/a\u003e, have become widely used in recent years. This means less fatigue, less risk of back or arm injury, especially when it needs to be carried over several tens of meters.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA 30-meter cable can be carried with one hand, even in wet conditions.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eSafety\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn case of breakage, Dyneema \u003cstrong\u003edoes not whip\u003c\/strong\u003e like steel. It does not create a dangerous spring effect.
