Polyamide Rope, also known as Nylon

Polyamide (PA) is a very strong and quite elastic synthetic fiber. Polyamide ropes are flexible and have an average elongation of 12 to 20%. As a result, they absorb shocks very well.

Polyamide rope offers excellent resistance to friction, abrasion, UV rays, and seawater. This makes it a very good choice for outdoor use.

Pleasant to the touch, it offers good grip, thus ensuring excellent handling.

However, this material absorbs water, does not float, and becomes more difficult to handle when wet.

Applications

Polyamide ropes can be used for DIY, work, or nautical activities.

The elasticity, combined with the resistance of this fiber, explains why many large diameter polyamide mooring lines, anchor lines, as well as slings and towing straps are found.

At home, this type of rope can be used for multiple purposes: making a dog leash, securing objects, making tethers, etc.

It can also be used in industry and construction, particularly due to its good resistance to hydrocarbons.

It is common to refer to these ropes and threads as "nylon." More precisely, nylon is a synthetic textile fiber belonging to the polyamide family.
