100% natural jute canvas bag
At Corderie Gautier, we always strive to offer you more ecological products made from natural materials, and organic if possible.
The ideal is the raw and entirely natural jute bag. The one with that typical, slightly rough look, in a beige/light brown color.
A robust accessory, widely reusable and entirely biodegradable.
Jute, or more precisely jute fiber (also known as "golden fiber") comes from the bark of white jute, Corchorus capsularis.
Less common, there is also red jute, from Corchorus olitorius.
The textile industry has been exploiting jute for a very long time, this fiber having supplanted hemp or linen. While jute was mainly used for making bags for transporting and storing goods, it is now found in furniture, geotextiles and decoration.
Jute invites itself into homes and gardens, protects trees and plants, allows vegetables to be stored, serves as a basket…
Storage, transport, gardening
Jute fiber is a resistant material. The jute canvas bag is strong and allows the goods it contains to breathe while being a good insulator.
It was already used on ships to transport goods by sea, and it is still useful today for transporting coffee and other foodstuffs.
In the garden, the jute bag can be used to easily store straw or hay, logs, tools or to collect branches and dead leaves... It can also be used to protect a tree or a plant.
Potato bag
It's the classic potato bag!
If you have a small vegetable garden or buy large quantities of potatoes from local farmers, the jute bag is ideal for storing potatoes.
Away from light, while allowing air to pass through, the jute bag will keep your potatoes longer by preventing them from sprouting too quickly.
Fruits and vegetables
You can also use these jute bags to store other fruits and vegetables: nuts, apples, pears, cabbages, onions...
At home as with professional producers, these accessories are useful everywhere.
The small sizes are very suitable for use as bulk bags to collect your fruits and vegetables from local producers. One more step in your more ecological approach.
Before placing your food in it, check what the product sheet indicates: "nuts and skinned fruits", or "Food contact".
With the mention "food contact" you can safely place any type of food in the jute canvas bag.
Sack race
With our large models of bags with a capacity of 50 kg or 100 L, young and old can have fun outdoors by organizing a sack race!
Decoration idea
Like so many other products made from natural materials, jute canvas is back in fashion and a decorative item.
In its raw form and color, it gives an authentic and old character to a room in the house: kitchen, living room, bathroom... For a vintage style, discover our coffee bags.
In a wooden chest or a wicker basket, it will dress up your storage unit while protecting linen from small snags.
Colored jute canvas bags give a clearly more modern touch to your ambiance. They are very suitable for storing clothes or toys in a child's bedroom.
