Competition or recreational net: how to choose?

The technical characteristics of the nets depend on the conditions of use and the players.
While the width of a volleyball net remains largely the same (it can be adjusted to the court for recreational use), the height is variable and depends on the players.

The rules are easily accessible on the FIVB, the International Volleyball Federation website.
For example, the net should be set at a height of 2.43m for men and 2.24m for women, both adult and junior, while it will be lowered to 2m for "poussins" (youngest category) and 1.80m for "pupilles" (next youngest category).

The structure, 1m in height and 9.50 to 10m in length with black mesh of 10 cm width, with a 7cm band on the upper part and a 5cm band on the lower part, are very specific for professional or competition use.
Also, the heavier a net is, the more it will resist balls or wind and be stable.

This criterion is more important for professional use, in clubs or high-level matches.
For private use, a leisure center or a small community setting up a playground, it is obviously possible to be much more flexible on these technical criteria. The important thing in the game is to have fun.

Indoor and outdoor use

Our nets are UV-treated and the material is rot-proof, making them suitable for use both indoors in a school or sports club gym, and outdoors.
A community can install them on a beach for beach volleyball.

As an individual playing volleyball for recreation, you can easily install it in your garden between two posts.
Our nets are not sold as a kit, with posts and antennas (also called "mirrors").
Lightweight, they are easy to transport and assemble. You can easily take them in your car for an outing with friends in a park or to the beach and organize a friendly match.

Stretching the net

To avoid hindering players during a game and to fulfill its role of marking the court, but also to bounce the volleyball without letting it fall directly to the ground, the volleyball net must be well stretched between two posts and securely fastened.
Our nets are fully reinforced around their entire perimeter by a bolt rope. If needed, you will find other ropes and fasteners on the website to attach it correctly.

Storing the volleyball net

If you need to store the net after a match, be sure to store it carefully to extend its lifespan.
Avoid making it into a compact and shapeless ball: the meshes will tangle, and when you want to use it again, you risk pulling on them, deforming them, and damaging the net.
To store your volleyball net, the best way is to lay it completely flat on the ground, extended as much as possible. Then start rolling it from one side to the end.
Alternatively, you can fold it, like a sheet for example. This will avoid knots and make it easier to deploy on the court.
