A handcrafted natural hemp halter

This natural hemp halter was born from a collaboration with Sarah, an artisan saddler-harness maker based in Alsace. Each piece is handcrafted individually, using traditional saddlery techniques.

Hemp gives the halter its natural and authentic appearance, as well as a raw feel in the hand that develops a patina over time. Historically used in rope making for its strength, this plant-based fibre is here used to create a simple, durable halter, far removed from mass-produced equipment.

Hemp and French leather: the choice of fine materials

The noseband is braided from French leather. Beyond its finish, this braiding allows for more precise action on the poll.

Leather also reinforces and highlights the hemp in key areas. The end of the headpiece is tied with waxed thread and then finished with leather: discreet details that make all the difference in an artisanal piece.

Each halter can be personalised with a leather finish in blue, pink, light brown, dark brown or black.

Available in pony, horse or draft sizes, this hemp halter is made in France in an Alsatian workshop.
