Custom-made climbing rope manufactured in France

At Corderie Gautier, we manufacture all types of climbing ropes. Whether for frequently ordered, standardized models or fully custom requests regarding length, diameter, or attachments, our ropes are manufactured in our workshops in France in lengths from 2 to 10 meters and in all possible diameters.

Smooth rope

The smooth rope is the essential accessory for effectively strengthening the upper body and developing arm strength.
While this exercise may seem easy when watching athletes, it is actually physically and mentally demanding. Climbing a smooth rope is a fundamental challenge for the military, and very popular among firefighters, police officers, and more.

Knotted rope

A knotted rope makes climbing much easier: each knot provides a foothold to push the entire body upward.
These ropes are therefore intended more for leisure, or for beginners to practice before moving on to a smooth rope.
You can find these knotted climbing ropes in private homes, for example in a garden, as well as in parks and fitness trails.

Stainless steel attachment

The climbing rope is equipped with a thimble and a marine-grade stainless steel ring: robust and corrosion-resistant. You can easily attach it to pitons, metal beams, carabiners, etc.

Indoor or outdoor

All our ropes can be installed both indoors and outdoors.

The ropes are made either from 100% natural hemp or synthetic hemp (textured polypropylene).

Note that natural hemp is sensitive to humidity and deteriorates quickly if exposed to rain. It should preferably be installed indoors.

Synthetic hemp, however, is highly water-resistant and does not mold.

The top end is always equipped with a thimble and a ring, both made of marine-grade stainless steel, offering very high resistance to corrosion.

With its stainless steel attachment, the rope is therefore perfectly suited for outdoor use.

Gymnasiums, tree-top adventure courses, leisure…

You can equip all kinds of facilities with these climbing ropes.

Gymnasiums for school sports (middle school, high school), in sports halls and clubs, and for the training of professionals who must maintain excellent physical condition (firefighters, gendarmes, etc.).

The smooth or knotted climbing rope, especially in textured polypropylene, is also very well suited for creating a fitness trail or challenges in a tree-top adventure park.

To create training courses with good physical intensity, the climbing net perfectly complements existing obstacles for working out both the arms and legs.

Physiotherapy and exercise

We also manufacture fairly short climbing ropes of 2 or 3 meters.
A small 2m smooth rope can thus be installed indoors in a physiotherapist's office or at home in a garage, under a porch, or from a tree.
Without going as far as high-level training, this allows you to work on strength and muscle development for the arms and upper body.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your frequently asked questions for safe and effective use
