Natural hemp rope is easily recognized by its characteristics: a color between beige and brown, a pleasant and soft touch, and a pine sap smell.
Unlike many other synthetic strings and ropes, such as imitation hemp ropes, a 100% hemp rope is truly a natural product.

This is why it is essential to ensure that the hemp rope is guaranteed 100% natural.
It is suitable for both indoor use and use with animals. Its resistance to bad weather (especially rain) is, however, much lower than other fibers.

Ecological and durable hemp rope

Our hemp ropes and strings are made from 100% natural fibers, for excellent quality and better respect for the environment.
Hemp fiber comes from the plant of the same name, which is harvested by pulling it out.

The spinning is done from the tow, which is the name given to vegetable fibers, such as cotton, jute, or sisal. The manufacturing process is therefore natural, without the addition of synthetic and polluting materials.

Hemp rope is an excellent ecological alternative: easy to grow, even in France, resistant, and predisposed to organic farming, a renewable raw material, hemp is therefore a highly valuable plant. On one hand, its seeds are rich in protein, its oil is of excellent nutritional quality, and its stems are used to make strings and ropes: a crop that is good for the environment and perfectly viable in the long term.

Multiple uses of hemp rope

The first traces of hemp ropes date back nearly 24,000 years!
And this rope has many applications.
Traditionally used in sailing and in the navy on old rigs and sailboats, hemp rope has also been used for a very long time in agriculture, livestock farming, and housing.

Before the advent of synthetic materials and cotton cultivation, hemp fiber was the material of choice.
The renewed interest in environmental protection gives new life to this natural fiber.
This 100% hemp rope is intended for indoor use for decoration, stair railings, shop windows, for theater or for physical training as a climbing rope.

Outdoors, it can be used for decoration, organic farming, making enclosures or horse riding.
As hemp is a natural material, ropes tend to deteriorate in wet and salty environments over time. Treatment with pine tar will protect the hemp against mold and bad weather.

Choosing your hemp rope well

A 100% natural, ecological, and environmentally friendly product. Our hemp ropes can be used anywhere.
However, to choose the right product for you, the operating environment and the breaking load must be taken into account.
As mentioned previously, for outdoor use and to resist humidity and mold, it is preferable to choose a treated rope or to treat it with pine tar to make it rot-proof.
Natural hemp has a lower limit than synthetic materials regarding its breaking load. This will depend on the diameter of the string or rope.

For decorative elements, any diameter will do.
To hang decorative or show elements (decor garland), prefer at least a diameter of 20 mm with a breaking load of 2,900 kg.
A climbing rope must resist more, so prefer a diameter of 28 mm for a better grip and a breaking load of 5,710 kg.

With a stair railing, take a diameter of 32mm and a breaking load of 7,400 kg.
In general, the larger the diameter, the greater the resistance of the rope.
